Achieve sales, KPI’s and profitability plans through the performance and development of 6 Area Managers and 1 State VM. The State Manager must ensure the delivery of exceptional operational and commercial standards across all stores in NSW and ACT. Ensuring compliance in all areas of operational activity, whilst adhering to the company’s trading policies and procedures.

2.Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and Develop 6 Area Managers to achieve Sales, KPI’s and Profit Plans across 42 stores
  • Recruit, train and retain a team of exceptional Area Managers.
  • Constantly succession plan to build a team of high-level Area Managers and Store Managers
  • Develop Area Managers to recruit, develop and retain exceptional team members perfectly matched to the brand culture
  • Consistently maintain store operations and standards through Area Managers and team, with regards to merchandising and management
  • Comply with, and be fully conversant in, all operational aspects of the yd retail business, both in a State, Area and store level
  • Ensure all internal and external security procedures are observed, maintained and delivered
  • To ensure protection and appropriate maintenance of company assets
  • Assist the Operations Manager with the opening of new and refurbished stores
  • Stock takes are completed within allocated times and complete accuracy is ensured
  • Cash handling and banking is monitored and maintained to ensure variances are reported and minimised, and banking is deposited as required
  • Ensure that all controllable expenses are managed within company guidelines
  • Plan time effectively, ensuring adequate time is spent reaching all stores within your State of responsibility with all Area Managers and Store Managers in store
  • To ensure effective stock management through adherence to company policies and procedures

 Training and Development

  • Develop a high level of sales, management and general retail skills training
  • Develop the State team through successful recruiting, training, coaching and succession planning
  • Improving team retention by reducing team turnover
  • Maximising team motivation and morale, ultimately improving team engagement
  • Work closely with team to ensure the complete compliance of company policies into stores ensuring consistent management of standards and expectations
  • Lead and oversee the merchandising standards within stores ensuring standards are met
  • Ensure that all recruitment and induction of our team is of the highest possible standard and in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure that Area and Store Managers are developed in order to build a team, and manage team performance to achieve company goals
  • Ensure that feedback and all areas of communication are open and consistently informed
  • Actively lead your team to greater achievement and accomplishment through inspiring leadership in delivering results
  • Represent the brand with professionalism and integrity at all times
  • Ensure that there is appropriate verbal and written communication with your Operations Manager, head office as required and your Area teams

3.Skills Required:

  • A sound business knowledge that applies to retail operational excellence including;
  • A customer focused management philosophy: customer and team centric focus
  • Ability to recognise opportunities and implement the appropriate action in consultation with the Operations Manager
  • Ability to identify nonperformance and remedy through appropriate and effective action
  • Ability to identify and deliver high levels of training as required by the business
  • Ability to implement merchandising policies and practices and maintain the appropriate standards
  • Ability to analyse the business and implement the appropriate action
  • A compatibility and commitment to developing a winning retail management team
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills

  • Sign-Ups of database to 70% minimum
  • Conversion Rates
  • Shrinkage/Stocktake under 0.50%
