Our client is a fast paced, retail online womens Athleisure business -growing rapidly. Recently joined a Group of strong retail brands, our client is now looking for a senior planning manager to take them to the next level.

The role will be responsible for:

  • Planning and development of Merchandise strategies
  • Budget and Forecast process
  • End to end OTB Management
  • Allocation and Replenishment
  • Leadership and development of Planning Analyst and Allocator
  • Promotional, markdown and aged inventory management
  • Maximising return on inventory (GMROI)

Financial planning

  • Budget development of all KPI’s in line with agreed financial targets
  • Lead and manage the forecast review process in collaboration with the buying team to identify opportunities and risks and put plans in place to deliver budget outcomes
  • Monthly tracking of KPI’s (vs budget, forecast & prior year) including suggested corrective actions

Allocation and Replenishment

  • Manage the allocation and replenishment of product
  • Determine, review and maintain optimum stock levels within both DC, Online and stores
  • Manage and maintain in-stocks of repeatable lines (Core Lines)
  • Manage the consolidation of stock across the business

Post Seasonal Review process and Seasonal Planning

  • Complete post season analysis to highlight opportunities
  • Product and supplier analysis to identify sales growth opportunities/risks in the business
  • Develop framework to ensure the buy reflects strategic intent and delivery of budget expectations

Promotional and Aged Stock Management

  • Manage all markdown and promotional activity (Markdown and scenario modelling)
  • Manage Aged stock within agreed benchmarks

Trading and Reporting

  • Monitor sales/performance trends, recommending corrective actions
  • Investigate and provide analysis of business and financial challenges, trends and improvement opportunities
  • Manage the on-time delivery of robust and consistent reporting
  • Develop and improve new reports to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Ensure integrity of data and tools

Team Building and Leadership

  • Mentor and coach direct reports to develop their skills whilst delivering improved inventory outcomes
  • Build collaborative relationships with the Buying team
  • Lead the broader business team to deliver improved financial outcomes

To be successful you will have:

  • Demonstrated 5-10 years merchandise planning experience within the retail industry
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage an OTB
  • Proven ability to manage allocation and replenishment process
  • Proven ability to drive inventory productivity improvements
  • Ability to take a proactive approach and think strategically
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Team player and effective communicator
